Arsenale SpA, in partnership with Egypt National Railways (ENR), announced the forthcoming launch of Egypt’s first luxury tourist train, the “Guardian of the Nile.” Set to debut in 2027, this luxurious train will revolutionise travel between Cairo and Aswan, offering a new way to experience Egypt’s historical and cultural landmarks.
The Guardian of the Nile will feature 15 designed carriages, accommodating up to 80 passengers in 40 cabins. These cabins will be divided into three categories: deluxe, suite, and honour suite, ensuring a range of high-end options for travellers. Each cabin will provide a luxury experience, while still in line with Egyptβs ancient heritage.
CEO of Arsenale Group, Paolo BarlettaΒ highlighted the train’s role in promoting sustainable tourism while providing luxury travel experiences. Barletta noted that the train would attract global travellers, offering them a unique perspective on Egypt’s rich history and vibrant landscapes. The train’s design and services aim to blend luxury with cultural immersion, making each journey a memorable adventure.
Egyptβs Minister of Transport, Kamel El-Wazir, emphasised the train’s potential to boost the tourism sector by showcasing Egypt’s diverse historical sites in a unique way. The project is expected to create new opportunities for economic growth and job creation within the tourism industry.
Renowned for its luxury infrastructure projects including the La Dolce Vita Orient Express in Italy (launching in, the Dream of the Desert in Saudi Arabia (launching in 2025), and the Samarkand Express in Uzbekistan, the Guardian of the Nile is the latest addition to Arsenale’s prestigious portfolio, representing a significant collaboration between Italy and Egypt in the field of luxury travel.
The introduction of the Guardian of the Nile also marks a significant milestone in Egypt’s tourism industry, promising to enhance the tourism experience in Egypt.
