Red Sea Global (RSG), the developer behind the regenerative tourism destinations The Red Sea and Amaala, has revealed Laheq Island, a new residential community that promises to bring the island lifestyle to Saudi Arabia for the first time.

Located within The Red Sea, Laheq Island marks a significant milestone beyond Phase One of the project, which welcomed its first guests in 2023 and now boasts five open hotels and a thriving airport.
Laheq Island: where luxury meets sustainability
Scheduled to open in 2028, Laheq Island will offer private residences that draw inspiration from the island’s natural beauty, with elegant designs incorporating natural timbers and lush greenery. Residents and guests will enjoy an array of amenities, including a 115-berth marina, sailing and watersports schools, a racket club, fitness center, sports field, and an 18-hole golf course.
“We have established our reputation as a developer of regenerative tourism destinations, but we are more than that. We are a vertically integrated real estate developer and operator. This includes creating luxury private residences, delivering on Vision 2030’s goal to make Saudi Arabia a top destination to live, work and travel, while further driving economic diversification and jobs growth.” – John Pagano, Group CEO of RSG
Sustainable design and regenerative tourism
Foster + Partners, a renowned architectural firm, has designed Laheq Island with a concept called “Forever Garden,” emphasizing abundant plant life and vivid greenery. The centerpiece, “The Ring,” is an 800-meter diameter structure encompassing luxury apartments, hotels, and retail, encircling the island’s white sand beaches.
“Our vision is grounded in a deep appreciation for Laheq Island’s outstanding natural beauty. Residents and visitors are invited into a serene garden that engages all the senses and offers panoramic views of the magnificent surroundings.” – Norman Foster, Founder and Executive Chairman of Foster + Partners
RSG remains committed to regenerative tourism, preserving and enhancing the natural surroundings of The Red Sea. The developer aims to plant and enhance 50 million mangroves and protect and regenerate corals in the Red Sea and beyond. Upon completion, The Red Sea, including Laheq Island, will become the world’s largest destination to run on 100% renewable energy.
No doubt Laheq Island is a game-changer for Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Vision 2030, marking a bold stride towards transforming the kingdom into a premier destination for living, working, and traveling. By pioneering sustainable design and regenerative tourism, RSG is not only driving economic diversification but also setting a new and even higher standard for luxury tourism and residential living in the region.
