Outpayce launches travel industry’s first payments marketplace

Outpayce, an Amadeus business, has launched the travel industry’s first payments marketplace, revolutionising the way airlines manage their payment systems. This innovative platform enables airlines to browse, sort, and filter payment partners connected to the Outpayce Xchange Payments Platform (XPP), streamlining payment orchestration and improving payments performance.

Here’s how it all works and what it means for users:

Simplifying payment management

The Outpayce payments marketplace provides airlines with a comprehensive catalog of payment capabilities, including interactive filters to identify suitable partners. Airline customers can now browse, sort, and filter capabilities from hundreds of global payment partners, with more to be added over time, and gain a thorough understanding of available countries, currencies, and services for each connection. The platform also provides live data on transaction volumes and travel payments supported by each payment partner via Outpayce’s Xchange Payments Platform (XPP), reducing review and decision-making time and enabling airlines to make informed decisions when selecting payment partners.

Streamlining integration

The platform streamlines the integration process, reducing activation timelines by a factor of ten. Payment companies can connect to Outpayce using newly available APIs, simplifying the integration process and enabling airlines to quickly expand their payment options. This accelerated integration process enables airlines to respond rapidly to changing market conditions and traveller demands.

Benefits

The Outpayce payments marketplace has the potential to transform the travel industry’s payment landscape. By providing airlines with a single platform to manage their payment systems, Outpayce is reducing the complexity and risk associated with payment management. This innovation enables airlines to focus on delivering exceptional traveller experiences, driving growth and revenue in the process.

β€œAn airline might need to begin accepting several alternative payment methods to support new route expansion across a region. With our marketplace catalog it’s easy to identify partners across those markets, using live transaction data from our platform to further assess the relevance of each prospective partner. If a partner is already supporting millions of travel-specific transactions in a region it builds confidence and helps travel companies move faster.” – Jean-Christophe Lacour, SVP & Global Head of Product Management and Delivery, Outpayce

Enhanced experience

Outpayce’s airline customers, including AEGEAN, have already benefited from the marketplace. Maria Neamoniti, Passenger Services System Manager at AEGEAN, noted, “Using the tool, we were able to easily find and compare payment connections, making it much simpler to choose the right options for new markets and different needs. This will help us improve how our payments work and bring new payment options to our passengers faster, making their travel experience even better.”

More to come

The Outpayce payments marketplace currently features hundreds of payment partners worldwide. The company plans to expand the marketplace’s offerings in the coming months, adding new payment partners, services, and products.
