According to the latest report from Wego, India, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Indonesia, Kuwait, UAE, Turkey, Philippines, and Jordan are the most preferred summer destinations for GCC travellers.
Searches surrounding summer trips for Eid al-Adha are on the rise, with 22% of MENA travellers choosing to book with only a week’s notice and most travellers booking only 2-7 days ahead. In 2024, rising summer airfares might discourage last-minute bookings for some of the destinations on the list. Flights to Egypt saw a 42.72% increase in prices, while fares to the Philippines have risen by 33.95% and those to Turkey by 28.26%.
Conversely, Saudi Arabia has seen a 20.31% YoY rise in domestic bookings over the same summer period, while Riyadh has grown in popularity recently. According to Wego’s data, over 3 million searches for Riyadh have been reported due to the region’s evolving hospitality sector and enhanced entertainment options.
For Kuwaiti travellers looking for a hassle-free Eid al-Adha getaway, there are several visa-free options that Wego has identified as growing in popularity, including Tbilisi (Georgia), Marrakech (Morocco), Dubai (UAE), Singapore, Amman (Jordan), Yerevan (Armenia), and Istanbul (Turkey).
