Due to recent political unrest in the Red Sea, Celestyal Cruises has canceled its 14-night repositioning cruises between Athens and Doha.

To ensure the safety of guests while maintaining its Arabian Gulf season, Celestyal Journey will operate two longer non-commercial repositioning cruises to and from Doha. This change has resulted in Celestyal cancelling its first three scheduled “Desert Days” itineraries, set to depart from Doha on 9, 16 and 23 November, as well as the first three “Heavenly Adriatic” sailings 22 and 29 March, and 5 April.

Despite these adjustments, Celestyal remains committed to its Middle East plans. The inaugural Arabian Gulf season will now begin with a seven-night “Desert Days & Qatar Grand Prix” cruise from Doha on 30 November 2024, followed by a seven-night “Desert Days & Abu Dhabi Grand Prix” cruise from Dubai on 2 December. The season will feature nine seven-night “Desert Days” sailings and two special Grand Prix voyages.

Affected guests have been notified and offered alternative cruises and reimbursement. Travel advisors have also been informed, with commission protection and rebooking options provided. The booking system will be updated within the next two weeks.

Celestyal reaffirms its commitment to global year-round operations in the Greek islands, Mediterranean, and Arabian Gulf; and will be sending a second ship to the Arabian Gulf next year.
