UAE travel provider, dnata Travel has reported a 35% YOY growth in international bookings between July and August 2024. According to dnata’s reports, international travel represents 90% of their summer bookings, with only 10% reserved for UAE staycations. This split is up from 65% over the Eid al-Adha break, with UAE traveller’s favourite destinations this summer appearing to be Thailand, the UK, Turkey, the Maldives, and Mauritius.

This growth comes at a time where dnata has been actively advancing its sustainability initiatives. Earlier in June, the company announced significant progress in its sustainability efforts, emphasising its dedication to reducing its environmental footprint. dnata’s initiatives include the implementation of more eco-friendly practices across its operations, investment in renewable energy sources, and efforts to minimise waste and emissions. The company has also called for greater collaboration from infrastructure providers to enhance sustainability within the industry.

These sustainability efforts are part of dnata’s broader commitment to corporate social responsibility. By integrating sustainable practices into its business model, dnata aims to set an example within the aviation and travel industries, demonstrating that growth and environmental stewardship can go hand in hand. The company’s proactive approach to sustainability not only benefits the environment but also appeals to the increasing number of eco-conscious travelers and partners, which is likely a contributing factor to the increase in bookings.
