Ever wondered what hotels fit for superstars look like? Enter Nujuma, a luxury resort in the Red Sea that recently hosted Saudi Al Nasser’s Christian Ronaldo for a family getaway. Inspired by the Arabic word for ‘stars, ’ the resort’s galactic theme runs throughout its amenities and facilities.
One of only seven Ritz-Carlton reserves globally, Nujuma’s prices start at $2,640 per night, outshining even Dubai’s iconic Burj Al Arab. Accessed only via boat or seaplane, it features 63 overwater and beach villas, each offering spacious living areas, private infinity pools, and telescopes on the deck for stargazing. These villas boast sweeping panoramic views, are complemented by personal hosts, and four distinct culinary experiences, Jamaa, Tabrah, Maiaee, and Sita, inspired by Umlaut fisherman of the region and Saudi’s flavours and customs.
The resort also features Nujuma’s Galaxy Diving Center, which offers snorkelling, diving expeditions, and water sports to explore the Red Sea’s vibrant marine ecosystems.
The Red Sea is a sustainability-forward destination that aims to mitigate its negative impacts and be regenerative. This is why it is currently ‘off-grid’, using its 760,000 solar panels to operate. The secluded Nujumi resort on Ummahat Island was designed by Foster + Partners to support sustainability and local biodiversity, using native and indigenous mangroves and plants as part of the landscaping.
But most notably, the Nujuma Conservation House aims to provide hands-on activities for guests to educate them on cultural traditions, sustainability practices, and the Red Sea’s rich biodiversity.
