Leadership in motion: Accor CEO reinforces Middle East commitment

In an industry often defined by strategy decks and long-term projections, moments of visible leadership can carry far greater weight. Sébastien Bazin, Group Chairman & CEO of Accor, recently demonstrated this with a visit from Paris to Dubai, meeting UAE leadership including HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and, crucially, spending time with teams and General Managers on the ground.

They discussed Dubai’s projects and initiatives that continue to position it as a global tourism and investment hub. But beyond the high-level discussions, Bazin’s presence signalled something more immediate and human: reassurance, alignment, and long-term commitment to the region.

Creating a sense of unity

At a time of evolving regional uncertainty, these are the kind of gestures that matter. Leadership visibility, particularly in person, reinforces trust in ways that internal communications cannot. Bazin’s decision to host an iftar at 25hours Dubai One Central brought together General Managers and Corporate Heartists, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose. The message was clear: people remain at the heart of Accor’s strategy.

For travel agents and partners across the Middle East, this is more than a symbolic visit. It reflects confidence in the region’s resilience and continued growth trajectory. Dubai, in particular, remains a cornerstone market, not only for leisure but as a global connector for business, investment, and innovation.

Ultimately, Bazin’s visit is a reminder that leadership, when visible and grounded, does more than guide strategy, it strengthens ecosystems.
