Etihad Airways is celebrating a significant milestone by unveiling a 20th-anniversary livery on its Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The distinctive design uses line art to showcase their Emirati identity, the history of the UAE airline and its 20-year journey as a home-grown brand.
It’s not the only way Etihad is celebrating; the inaugural flight to Bali took off on June 25 and touched down in Denpasar to a traditional salute of water cannons. Etihad pilots responded by waving the Indonesian and UAE flag from the cockpit. This marks the commencement of direct flights to the Indonesian island, which will continue four times per week on state-of-the-art aircraft.
As if Etihad weren’t busy enough this week, they also announced their international pilot recruitment drive. Launching a roadshow across major European cities, Etihad hopes to attract hundreds of new pilots to support its expanding fleet and future operations. This recruitment campaign will eventually extend to other global regions, offering aspiring pilots a chance to join Etihad and benefit from the lifestyle opportunities in Abu Dhabi.
As Etihad focuses on expanding its route network, announcing six A321neos early this month and aiming to reach 20 new aircraft by 2025, this week’s activities highlight Etihad’s commitment to growth in the UAE.
