Flydubai just got fancy with meals and movies now included for all

flydubai

Travellers on a budget, rejoice, as your inflight noodles and Netflix moments are now officially part of the deal! From November 2025, flydubai is levelling up its Economy Class experience by including complimentary meals and inflight entertainment to every single ticket. That’s right! No more staring enviously at your neighbour’s snack box or fumbling for your credit card when you fancy a film mid-flight.

The move marks a bold new chapter for the Dubai-based low-cost carrier, which is now giving its passengers a taste of the premium life without the premium price tag. As flydubai’s CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith put it:

“Redefining the Economy Class offering across all flights represents a significant evolution in our business model. Our focus remains on investing in enhancing our customer experience and delivering added value across every touchpoint…” Translation? They are turning the low-cost carrier game on its head, and we are here for it.

From lean to luxe … ish

This isn’t the first time flydubai has gone all-out to woo travellers. Over the last few years, the airline has quietly been upping its game, with their Business Class check-in area that feels more boutique hotel than budget terminal, and their brand-new Business Class Lounge at DXB Terminal 2 that gives major treat-yourself-before-take-off vibes.

Now, with meals and movies bundled into the fare, Economy flyers will be enjoying a slice of that upgraded experience too. According to the carrier’s Chief Commercial Officer Hamad Obaidalla:

“By including meals and inflight entertainment in every ticket, we’re modifying the Economy Class fare structure and ensuring passengers get more value, while remaining competitive.”

In other words, the airline wants you to eat, stream and relax, all while keeping ticket prices wallet-friendly.

Is this kickstarting of a trend?

The big question on everyone’s lips, no doubt, is “Is flydubai sparking a low-cost glow-up movement?” Could other LCCs follow suit and start adding a bit more sparkle to their no-frills fare? With passenger expectations shifting and competition heating up, this could well be the start of a new chapter for budget air travel, one where comfort, convenience, and value finally come together in the same cabin. Well, we can all hope!

For now, we’re just happy to know that our next hop from Dubai to wherever will come with a meal and movie. Now that’s fly-nancing done right.
