Oman airports hit 8.4M passengers

Oman’s airports – Muscat, Salalah, Sohar, and Duqm – collectively handled 8,478,548 passengers by July 2024, marking a 9.2% increase from the previous year’s 7,757,629.

According to the report by Muscat Daily, the number of flights also grew by 5.7% to 63,219.

Muscat International Airport saw an 8.9% rise in passenger numbers, reaching 7,571,148, with a 5.8% increase in flights to 56,498.

In terms of demographic, Omani citizens accounted for the highest passenger numbers at Muscat, followed by Indians and Pakistanis.

Meanwhile, Salalah Airport experienced a 10.3% increase in passenger traffic, reaching 827,486, with a 3.6% rise in flights; and Sohar Airport enjoyed a whopping 114.4% surge in passenger numbers, reaching 45,126, and a 46.6% increase in flights. Duqm Airport, however, experienced a 6.3% decline in passenger traffic, recording 34,788 passengers by July 2024.

Arrival figures into Oman in this report represent an updated record from those released earlier in the month.
