In accordance with Guinness World Records’ evaluation procedures, Turkish Airlines established the record with flights to 120 countries, calculated based on actively operated routes during last 12 months. Neverthless, the airline’s extensive network (including suspended flights) spans an impressive 131 countries, all efficiently managed from its state-of-the-art hub at Istanbul Airport.

This achievement is a testament to the airline’s strategic expansion and dedication to providing comprehensive flight options. By offering connections to such a vast array of international destinations, Turkish Airlines facilitates both business and leisure travel, fostering global trade and cultural exchange.

Founded in 1933 with a modest fleet, Turkish Airlines has undergone a remarkable transformation over the decades. Today, the airline boasts a substantial fleet of 491 aircraft (including both passenger and cargo planes), connecting passengers to 352 destinations across the globe.

Istanbul Airport, serving as the airline’s central hub, plays a crucial role in this success. Its modern infrastructure and strategic location at the crossroads of Europe and Asia not only provides an ideal transfer point for passengers traveling between East and West, but has also enabled the carrier to develop a highly efficient and expansive network, further contributing to its record-breaking achievement.

The airline’s focus on passenger experience, combined with its strategic growth and extensive network, firmly places its position as a leading carrier in international aviation, while the Guinness World Record serves as a powerful symbol of Turkish Airlines’ dedication to connecting the world.
