The exhibition floor was abuzz with cutting-edge tech, from smart contact lenses that measure glucose levels to brain-computer implants that decode neural signals. One of the highlights of GITEX Global 2025 was the virtual conversation between Sam Altman, OpenAI’s CEO, and Peng Xiao, G42’s Group CEO, who discussed the concept of “AI-native societies”. This conversation highlighted the growing interest in AI and its potential to transform societies and industries. The event also witnessed several public-private collaborations, with officials from the UAE and other countries eyeing the Emirates as a global AI hub.

The Sharjah Digital Department, for instance, partnered with e& to boost government network infrastructure through advanced tech. This partnership focuses on enhancing connectivity and supporting sustainable digital development across Sharjah. The Government of Sharjah also showcased its digital transformation journey through interactive experiences and real-life success stories, highlighting its efforts to integrate food production, public health, and environmental quality through innovative technologies.

GITEX Global 2025 also saw the participation of various government entities, including the Ajman Department of Tourism Development (ADTD), which unveiled a suite of innovative digital projects and services. ADTD’s initiatives include interactive tools for generating images, videos, and 3D models, as well as systems for evaluating ideas and maintaining a comprehensive digital registry to track future initiatives.

Looking ahead, GITEX TechCation 2026 promises to be an even bigger and better event. Scheduled to take place from 7-11 December at Expo City Dubai, this city-wide event will feature an immersive celebration of tech, culture, food, and outdoor activities. Aligning with Dubai’s D33 agenda, GITEX TechCation 2026 aims to rank among the world’s top three global cities by 2033. With Dubai already topping Tripadvisor’s Best of the Best Awards and attracting Greenfield FDI projects, no doubt the city will be an even stronger magnet for tech talent and investors.
