Save the date: an industry calendar worth bookmarking

Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

The Middle East’s newest and fastest growing travel industry publication has officially launched a ‘Calendar of Events’, the ultimate resource for travel and tourism events taking place across the region.

Covering both B2B and B2C events, the calendar acts as a one-stop-shop capturing all upcoming industry relevant events from conferences to forums, gatherings, national days, championships and even live events.

Jon Spring, Rihlat Travel News’ Managing Director, said the calendar was developed in response to the industry’s quickly expanding social calendar.

“Rihlat Travel News’ new Calendar of Events aims to take the stress out of staying in the loop by providing up-to-date information on upcoming events, whether it’s an aviation conference or a music festival.”

“From Dubai to Bahrain and through to Morocco, the region is rolling out the red carpet for events and the industry is a buzz with more gatherings than ever before,” said Mr Spring.  “Add to that the acute increase in large scale consumer events, and it’s become quite difficult to keep up with what’s on where and when.”

The calendar can be found by clicking the menu bar on Rihlat Travel News’ homepage and selecting the tab titled ‘Calendar of Events’.

Users can scroll through events chronologically by date and month or use the filters or search bar to find a specific type of event. Each calendar entry provides a summary of the event taking place along with specific dates, a location map and an external link to more information. There’s also the option to save the event to personal electronic calendars, whether it’s Google Calendar, iCalender or Outlook.

For event organisers, the calendar has the option to add upcoming functions by selecting the ‘submit event’ button and providing details via the online form.

“It really is the ultimate resource for travel industry professionals and we already have a selection of exciting events for individuals to start browsing and planning today.”

Events taking place in the coming weeks include the Future Hospitality Summit in Dubai where the hotel industry will talk all things ‘technology and innovation’, as well as the IATA World Safety and Operations Conference in Morocco which will tackle all aspects of air safety.

The Kingdom of Bahrain will welcome hundreds of aviation stakeholders for Routes World 2024 early next month, as The Backstreet Boys take the stage in Abu Dhabi.
