Dubai Airports has integrated an AI-powered inventory forecasting tool to enhance its operational efficiency and inventory management.

This new system leverages AI via a new Material Requirement Planning (MRP) tool to predict demand accurately and optimise inventory levels. This in turns ensures that resources are available when needed without overstocking. This move aligns with Dubai International Airport’s (DXB) ongoing efforts to remain the world’s busiest airport for international passenger traffic, handling 87 million passengers in 2023 alone.

The tool has already improved forecast accuracy by 30% and reduced excess stock by 12%. It is predicted to improve logistical capabilities, which enables faster check-in processes, thereby enhancing the passenger experience. By utilising AI, Dubai Airports aims to streamline operations, reduce costs, and increase efficiency for its large scale operations.

In addition to improving inventory management, the AI system will support strategic planning and operational decision-making. This will allow the airport to better manage peak travel periods and unexpected disruptions. This adoption of advanced technology underscores Dubai Airports’ commitment to innovation and maintaining its leading position in the global aviation industry.
