The country has extended its Visit Qatar Pass until the end of September, giving GCC residents access to up to 50% discounts on various travel amenities. From food and drinks to beauty and spa – there’s savings for all types of travellers.

With 43% of Qatar’s international visitors hailing from neighbouring GCC countries (including Saudi Arabia, Oman, the UAE, Kuwait and Bahrain), it’s no surprise the country is treating the region with access to generous travel discounts. 

Before we get into the travel goods, Saudi Arabia led the influx of GCC travellers to Qatar in the first half of 2024, with over 700,000 visitors, followed by Kingdom of Bahrain with over 122,000, the State of Kuwait with over 98,000, the Sultanate of Oman with over 96,000, and the UAE with over 75,000.

For the history buffs, a tour of Al Zubarah Fort

Step outside the lights and buzz of Doha city and into Qatar’s north for a peek at the country’s 50,000-year history.

Available through the app from $90 per person, the tour will take travellers to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, an ancient fort that once flourished as a centre of trade, fishing and pearling.

The tour runs from approximately four hours with departures at 9am and 1.30pm.
