Qatar is expanding its public parks network as part of broader sustainability and community well-being initiatives. The new developments focus on increasing green spaces, adding modern recreational facilities, and improving accessibility. Plans include more walking and cycling tracks, family-friendly zones, and enhanced landscaping. These upgrades aim to promote outdoor activities, healthier lifestyles, and environmental awareness among residents and visitors.

Oman emerges as top adventure tourism destination and welcomes rising European winter tourism

Oman is cementing its position as a premier adventure tourism hub by developing eco-friendly attractions at sites like Majlis al Jinn, Wadi Shab, and Ras al Shajar Nature Reserve. Plans include thrilling experiences like cave descents, glass bridges, zip lines, and via ferrata routes. Meanwhile, Oman’s Dhofar region is experiencing a surge in European winter tourists, particularly from Germany, France, Italy, and Eastern Europe. Efforts by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, along with new direct charter flights, have contributed to this growth. Visitors are drawn to historic sites like Al Baleed, Sumhuram, and Jabal Samhan Reserve, boosting the local economy through tourism.

UAE travellers plan Eid Al Fitr holidays with rising interest in local and global destinations

Expedia has reported a surge in UAE travel bookings for Eid Al Fitr, with popular domestic getaways including Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah, and Abu Dhabi. Interest in Istanbul, Baku, Cairo, and Bahrain remain regional favourites. Long-haul trips to New York, Boston, and Las Vegas, the Maldives, Paris, London, Tokyo, and Phuket are also ranking highly. Expedia suggests booking asap for the best deals.

Jordan promotes UNESCO World Heritage sites to attract GCC tourists

Jordan Tourism Board is inviting travellers from GCC countries to explore its seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including Petra, Wadi Rum, and As-Salt. The campaign highlights Jordan’s rich history, cultural diversity, and natural beauty, aiming to offer family-friendly, short-haul travel experiences. Sites such as Quseir Amra, Um Er-Rasas, Umm Al-Jimal, and the Baptism Site are also part of the promotion. Meanwhile, Jordan’s King has called for a clear tourism strategy, focusing on showcasing history and culture, upgrading infrastructure, and enhancing visitor experiences to drive economic growth and job creation.
