The Middle East has seen a 10.8% YoY increase of airline passenger growth. As such, hotels need to match the growing demand. Here’s a snapshot of the region’s hotel news this week.
St. Regis Al Mouj in Muscat
Offering a luxurious coastal retreat, the St. Regis Al Mouj Muscat Resort in Oman has opened. Set against the Arabian sea, the new resort blends local heritage with the signature style of the St. Regis brand. The resort boasts secluded beaches, 250 guest rooms and suites, nine dining venues, and an afternoon tea lounge. Located in one of most exclusive neighbourhoods in Oman, guests won’t be far from major attractions. These include the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, Al Hajar Mountains, the natural pools of Wadi Shab and Daymaniyat Islands.
Development Advisory Vertical launched in RAK
Advisory firm Stirling Hospitality Advisors has announced a Development Advisory Vertical comprising two projects. The first is an upper-midscale hotel project with 300-350 rooms. The second is a boutique hotel in Jumeirah Gardens, Dubai. These developments aim to enhance the region’s tourism offerings with modern accommodations and state-of-the-art facilities.
Additions for EDITION hotels
EDITION Hotels has announced new properties planned for Doha (2024), the Red Sea (2025), and Riyadh (2026). These locations will join existing properties in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Jeddah, reinforcing the brand’s luxury presence. The new hotels aim to meet the growing demand for high-end accommodations offering innovative designs, exceptional service and exclusive amenities.
Saudi Arabia’s upcoming openings
On the cusp of a hospitality boom, Saudi Arabia is expecting numerous high-end hotels to open in the coming years. With the aim to enhance its appeal as a premier global destination, some notable key openings coming up include:
- The Four Seasons Resort Sindalah Island in NEOM. The property will offer 225 luxuriously appointed rooms and private villas, spas, fitness centers, and private yacht docks.
- Canopy by Hilton Porta Jeddah. The luxury Hilton property will offer 55 residences, diverse dining options, a rooftop terrace and spectacular shoreline views.
- The Regent Hotel Jeddah. The property will offer 182 rooms, a 200sqm health club and views of the Corniche.
- Several luxury resorts are st to open in the Red Sea Region. One of them is Rosewood Amaala, a resort centred around sustinability and wellness. Set in the Prince Mohammad bin Salman Nature Reserve, the property will be powered by 100% renewable energy.
