Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) has announced the development of a Performing Arts Centre as part of the Qiddiya City project.
In keeping with the rest of the Qiddiya, the state-of-the-art Centre will boast incredible architecture, cutting-edge technology and artistic innovation. Visitors can look forward to engaging with new technology breathing in new life to ancient Arabic storytelling showcasing the Kingdom’s culture and rich heritage.
Designed to host more than 260 performances per year, the venue aims to draw an estimated 800,000 visitors annualy. Three indoor theatres will house more than 3,000 seats, while the outdoor cantilevered amphitheatre will feature 500 suspended seats. The Centre will also function as a social hub for shoppers, diners and other activity-goers.
“The centre is dedicated to pioneering experiences and empowering Saudi talent,” QIC Managing Director Abdullah Aldawood explained. “Leveraging state-of-the-art technologies such as Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and Artificial Intelligence, the Centre will host groundbreaking productions that push the boundaries of traditional theatre.”
The Centre, alongside other attractions planned for Qiddiya City is expected to create thousands of jobs. Already in the works are a Gaming and Esports District, the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium, and Aquarabia.
