The China Visitors Summit due to take place in Dubai from 5-6 September is poised to facilitate significant business growth and connections between qualified Chinese travel trade buyers and Middle Eastern travel and tourism providers.

As Chinese tourists increasingly seek different travel experiences, the Middle East offers a compelling destination with its rich cultural heritage, landacapes and modern attractions. The event will enable Middle Eastern suppliers to better understand the preferences and expectations of Chinese travellers, potentially leading to tailored travel packages and enhanced visitor experiences.

This B2B event will host more than 120 Chinese travel buyers, who will engage with Middle Eastern suppliers to explore opportunities for collaboration and growth over an entire week. From sampling local cuisine to site inspections, buyers will be able to develop relationships that can be leveraged from both sides further down the line.

Exploring the potential of Chinese tourists

Earlier this year, the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) hosted sessions on the Global Stage surrounding China and India’s increasing opportunity in the Middle East. It was shared that the Middle East has seen a 54% increase in Chinese tourist arrivals from Q1 2023 – Q1 2024 β€˜propelled by a quest for cultural experiences’.

Female Chinese travellers: A growing market segment

This summit comes at an excellent time as a rising number of female Chinese travellers are driving demand for specific travel experiences. The β€œChina’s Women in Charge” report by FINN Partners and ILTM Asia Pacific reveals solo female Chinese tourists want safety, luxury, and new experiences. This presents a lucrative opportunity for Middle Eastern destinations and businesses to cater to this demographic by sharing customised services, as well as new, luxury an and authentic experiences that meet their preferences.
