Business Class Amenity Kits, Which Airline Does It Best?

When you book Business Class, you’re not just paying for the seat; you’re paying for the little touches that equate to a luxurious experience in the sky.

Those little touches can vary from pyjamas, high-end meals, glass dinnerware (instead of plastic like those in economy), and most importantly, today’s focus, the amenity kits.

We’re putting a spotlight on Business Class amenity kits by examining the offerings of Middle Eastern carriers and ranking them based on our favourites.

The quality of a Business Class amenity kit can differ from person to person, with some individuals favouring the bag’s branding, the variety of products inside and/or the smaller touches. We’ve taken both into account and listed our top six based on their brand relations as well as the actual products in each kit:

Sitting at number six is Oman Air’s Business Class amenity kit. To be clear, it isn’t because the amenity kit is bad; it’s actually pretty good. It’s just compared to the others, it lacks the same lustre.

Inside the Amouage-branded Kit, guests receive a large-sized body lotion (a huge win), facial moisturiser, lip balm, as well as a dental kit, shaving kit, mouthwash, silk eyeshades, socks, and earplugs.

Next up is Qatar Airways’ Business Class amenity kit, which is branded by France’s luxury fragrance band, Diptyque.

Business travellers on select flights will receive one of these kits packed with lip balm, body lotion, essential face cream and fragrance from Diptyque’s collection.

Teaming up with French fragrance brand Lanvin Parfums, Turkish Airlines has created what it describes as amenity kits that offer “an elegant touch of luxury”.

Unveiled very recently, there are five different bags (collect them all!). The brown, black, tan and cream bags are available on flights of at least eight hours, and the wallet-style black and brown bag is provided on flights between five and eight hours.

Each bag is designed to be reusable and versatile on and off the plane and is packed with an eye mask, socks, earplugs and a dental kit. Keeping sustainability in mind, the mask and socks are made from recyclable material, while the earplugs are packed in paper to minimise single-use plastic.

It’s all cubes and clutches in Etihad’s Business Class. Etihad’s kits are co-branded by Giorgio Armani (epic) and come in two unisex styles – a cube and a clutch.

The cubes are inspired by the traditional Emirati wind tower, Barajeel, and forts, and are designed to cater to the traveller’s needs on and off the plane. Etihad described the cubes can be used packing and organising a suitcase or even used to organise smaller clothing items in a drawer at home.

Meanwhile, the clutch is as it sounds, a clutch bag with a dune-like design inspired by the rolling sands of Abu Dhabi’s Liwa desert.

furla bag

A Furla bag! In case you missed that, a Furla bag! That’s what female Business Class travellers receive when they book and board an international flight with Saudia. For men, it’s a Porsche Design clutch, and for kids, it’s a super cute ‘Dress and Guess’ bag, complete with a red tongue sticking out of the front pocket.

If that wasn’t cool enough (which, to be clear, it is!), the adult kits are filled with a hairbrush or comb, dentil kit, earplugs, eye masks, socks, lip balm, hand lotion, a mirror, and a USB cable (handy!), amongst other things. While the kids receive playing cards, headphones, pencils, books, and more.

Alternatively, for kids, there’s also a ‘Creature Crew’ backpack with similar items, including the playing cards, books, games, and headphones.

New to the world of amenity kits is Emirates’ new Bulgari bags. Yep, you read right, the Italian designer created tour bag shapes for both men and women.

For female flyers, there’s a pouch and a classic toiletry bag, both made from synthetic leather and filled with face and body lotion, a Bulgari lip balm, a dental kit, earplugs, a double-sided mirror, deodorant, tissues, and a foldable brush. The bags also have Bulgari’s iconic fragrance, Omnia Coral Eau de Toilette.

For the male flyers, there are two contemporary chestnut brown fabric bags with faux leather accents. Each kit has aftershave, balm and body lotion, a Gillette razor, shaving foam, dental kit, earplugs, deodorant, tissues, and a brush. There’s also some of Bulgari’s best-selling Man in Black fragrance.
