Hyatt Hotels Corporation is expanding its presence in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East (EAME) with several highly anticipated hotel openings in 2025. In the Middle East, Qatar will see the addition of Andaz Doha. Additionally, Hyatt will unveil renovated rooms at Hyatt Regency Oryx Doha.

Cheval Collection’s latest property, Cheval Maison – Expo City Dubai, is set to open in March 2025, offering 151 luxurious, serviced apartments and top-flight business and leisure amenities. Located alongside Al Wasl Plaza, the property boasts stunning accommodation, dining outlets, a rooftop pool, state-of-the-art gym, and extensive landscaped grounds. This opening marks a key milestone in Cheval Collection’s Middle East expansion, which includes more properties in the UAE and a move into Saudi Arabia.

Mercure Riyadh Al Anood opens in RIyadh

Accor has introduced the Mercure brand to Riyadh with the opening of Mercure Riyadh Al Anood, offering a blend of comfort and authentic local experiences. Located in the Al Murabba district, the hotel provides easy access to commercial and cultural landmarks. With 135 elegantly designed rooms and suites, the hotel features modern amenities, international and Arabic dining options, and a rooftop wellness center.

Abu Dhabi sets standard for hospitality

Abu Dhabi has emerged as a leader in the Middle East’s hospitality sector, boasting an impressive 86% response rate to online guest reviews, one of the highest globally. This achievement underscores the emirate’s commitment to delivering exceptional hospitality and fostering meaningful connections with visitors. According to the Statistics Centre Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi hotels received 2.411 million guests during the first five months of last year, with 169 hotel establishments offering 34,079 rooms.

According to CoStar pipeline data, Shanghai, London, and Dubai are projected to open the most hotel rooms in 2025, outside of the US. The Middle East & Africa region is expected to see 50,683 room openings, with Dubai leading the way with 5,344 rooms. Europe is projected to open 106,729 rooms, with London, Istanbul, and Dublin being the top three markets. Meanwhile, the Asia Pacific region is expected to see 228,468 room openings, with Shanghai, Chengdu, and Shenzhen leading the charge.

Oman’s hotel revenue sees 6% boost as tourism sector expands

Oman’s 3- to 5-star hotels saw a 6% YoY increase in revenue, reaching OMR243.4 million ($633 million) by December 2024, according to official data. Hotel guest numbers also rose by 4% to 2 million, with Omani guests accounting for 804,000 bookings and European arrivals increasing by 4% to 539,000. As part of its Vision 2040 project, Oman aims to attract 11 million visitors annually, with plans to invest $31 billion in tourism infrastructure, attractions, and services over the next 16 years.

The Ascott Limited has signed its first The Crest Collection property in Saudi Arabia, in partnership with Homod Altheeb Holding, marking a significant milestone in the company’s regional expansion. Located in Riyadh’s prestigious An Nakheel district, the opulent 5-star development will feature exquisitely designed hotel rooms, serviced apartments, and suites, catering to both leisure and business travellers, with premium amenities and state-of-the-art meeting spaces. The property is set to open in January 2028.

After 28 years as a Dubai coastline landmark, the Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort has undergone a dramatic transformation. The revamped resort now boasts redesigned rooms and suites, a refreshed lobby and club lounge, and two new culinary destinations. The new look also introduces dynamic social spaces, further positioning the property as a community hub.

Four Seasons to debut in RAK

Stirling Hospitality Advisors has advised RAK Properties on a landmark agreement with Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts to develop a luxury resort and branded residences in Ras Al Khaimah. The project is set to featuring 150 luxury apartments, villas, and a 150-key resort, offering top-notch hospitality and amenities.
