ADFD launches $120 million luxury hotel project near Giza Pyramids

The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) has initiated construction of the Sofitel Legend Pyramids Giza, a AED440 million ($120 million) five-star hotel in Egypt. The project will feature 302 luxury rooms, international dining options, and entertainment facilities. Managed by Accor Group, it is backed by a consortium of UAE and Egyptian investors, with ADFD contributing over 84% of the funding. The development aims to enhance Egyptβs tourism sector and support sustainable economic growth.

The new Four Points by Sheraton hotel in Jeddah has opened its doors, adding 112 rooms and suites to the city’s accommodation options. Located near the city’s financial hub and popular attractions, the hotel offers easy access to shopping, museums, and sports venues, as well as a short 15-minute drive to King Abdulaziz International Airport. The hotel’s Creek restaurant is also open, and guests can enjoy the signature Four Points Comfort bed – which can even be purchased online for personal use. The property is managed by Aleph Hospitality, which aims to manage 50 hotels by 2027.
Dubai College of Tourism (DCT) and Marriott introduce hospitality apprenticeship for Emiratis

Marriott International and The Dubai College of Tourism (DCT), are teaming up to launch an apprenticeship training program for UAE Nationals. The two year program aims to cultivate home grown talent, creating professional pathways into the hospitality. Marriott’s involvement includes providing in-hotel placements, offering employment opportunities and on the job training, which will completment the theoretical component of the course. Applications are now open and can be made via the DCT website. The program, supported by the UAE Ministry of Eduction is seen as a welcome addition to deepening the local talent pool to support the vibrant hospitality sector in the UAE.
