Bringing three decades of luxury hospitality experience, Philippe Kronberg has been named the new Resort General Manager for Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah and Shangri-La Al Husn in Muscat, Oman. Effective 24 June, Kronberg, a dual citizen of France and Australia, boasts a global career that includes leadership roles across the Asia-Pacific, Europe, the UK, and Turkey.
Previously the GM at Shangri-La Sydney, his tenure saw the hotel achieve record revenues. Kronberg is committed to sustainability and compliance, a surging focus in the Middle East travel industry right now.
New CEO for The Lux Collective
Olivier Chavy has been appointed CEO of the global luxury hospitality group, The Lux Collective, where he will lead the companyβs strategic growth and operations. Chavy brings 30 years of successful business transformation experience, including holding positions in notable brands, Hilton and MΓΆvenpick.

Starting with JA Resorts & Hotels in 2005, committed team member Murad Ahmed has recently been promoted to Cluster General Manager. Working his way up from a Revenue Sales Agent to Resident Manager over the last 20 years has given him in-depth insights into JA’s workings. With his appointment, JA The Resorts is recognising his dedication, loyalty, and strategic vision, which made the hotel a success during his appointment.
Worthy candidate Amit Alva has been promoted to Resort Manager to take Muradβs place at JA The Resorts. With two decades of hospitality experience, Alva was Restaurant Manager at the prestigious Savoy London, Hilton London Metropole, and Roux Fine Dining. Since then, he has made his way to the GCC to serve as Director of Food and beverage at notable hotels such as Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts, Al Murooj Rotana, Dubai, and Kempinski Hotel.

Mohamed Hawwam is bringing 20 years of luxury hospitality experience to the new role of General Manager at the French hotel Sofitel Dubai Downtown. Known for his strategic leadership and innovative approach, multi-award-winning hotelier Hawwam joined Sofitel in 2016, contributing significantly to its growth. Previously, he was Director of Revenue and E-commerce at Sofitel Jeddah Corniche and Director of Operations at Sofitel Dubai Downtown.
